Issues

• ducklake_flush_inlined_data pins one whole-catalog copy per schema version: memory quadratic in table count, not bounded by memory_limit

  duckdb/ducklake#1795 · Filter by author VGSML opened on Oct 15, 2026

• Data inlining has no size bound: a one-row CTAS holding 2 M-element lists is inlined as a ~50 MB INSERT literal whose parse takes 48+ GB (memory_limit 2 GB) and is OOM-killed

  duckdb/ducklake#1780 · Filter by author h4nsmuller opened on Oct 14, 2026

• PostgreSQL catalog: inlined-data table DDL doesn't quote column names that are PostgreSQL-reserved but not DuckDB keywords (session_user, current_date, ...)

  duckdb/ducklake#1779 · Filter by author prmoore77 opened on Oct 14, 2026

• Catalog load reads ducklake_column in full: the snapshot predicate does not survive the LEFT JOIN, so cost grows with schema history

  duckdb/ducklake#1777 · Filter by author chaegordon opened on Oct 14, 2026

• ducklake_file_column_stats has no index on (table_id, column_id), the only columns it is queried by; adding one takes the lookup from 39-63 ms to 1.8 ms on Postgres

  duckdb/ducklake#1776 · Filter by author chaegordon opened on Oct 14, 2026

• merge_adjacent_files() fails with S3 404 (NoSuchKey) — catalog references a missing data file

  duckdb/ducklake#1685 · Filter by author jalexbarbour opened on Oct 12, 2026

• Scans of an unaltered table with inlined data query the catalog every transaction, and other scan threads spin on it

  duckdb/ducklake#1641 · Filter by author danthegoodman1 opened on Oct 9, 2026

• Columns added by ALTER read as NULL from an inlined-data table created after the table's last schema change
